Well one week ago today I was sitting in the ER. I was having chest pains every time I would take a breath. I started getting worried so I had Hubby take me there. Anyways after a bunch of test they tell me that I have Pleurisy. So they gave me some meds to take and sent me home. I still hurt for a couple of days, but by the time I went to see my Doctor on Friday I was pain free...
So while I was at the Doctors I decided to ask him about quiting smoking. So we talked about it, and I think that I am really ready to do it this time. So he prescribed me Chantix So I started the pills yesterday. Next Sat will be my first day not smoking at all. I have noticed today that I really haven't been craving one and really haven't been missing them either. It could be all in my mind or it could be that the pills are helping. I hope it is the pills. I know a few people who have done this. My Aunt and Uncle have done it and are still not smoking. So if they can do I know that I can too!! So everyone keep your fingers and toes crossed that I can do it and not gain a lot of weight. Oh yea speaking of that I have lost 6lbs in the last month! YAY ME!!
So hubby is doing really good and back to work. The Staph infection that was in his bladder is now completely gone.

Update to my week of hell!

I just wanted to let everyone know that at about 2:30 today Hubby came home! Yay!! He is feeling much better. He has to take his temp 2 times a day, and take some meds for a week. He is to call his doctor if his temp goes back up, but it has stayed normal since yesterday when it finally broke. I want to thank everyone for thier thoughts and prayers.
So tomorrow we are going to rest and watch the Nascar race! GO Tony!! And get ready for the work week ahead of us. Boo Work! But I will be really glad to get back to my normal life. With so much going on this week I kept getting confused on what day of the week that it was! LOL

My Hubby...
This has been the week from hell!! On Tuesday Hubby came home from school not feeling good and running a fever of 101. This continued all night. At 4:30 am he woke up saying that he wanted to go the ER. So at 5am we left for the hospital. He explained what had been going on all night to the nurse. The dr came in and told us that they wanted to do a Spinal Tap to rule out Spinal Meningitis, this was a concern for them since he had the high fever and a really bad headache. The test for that came back with nothing! So the dr tells us that he is showing bacteria in his urine. So they are thinking that he has an Urinary Track Infection. So 8 hours later they send us home.. Oh and did I mention that when they sent him home that his temp was still 101! I really couldn’t believe that they sent him home with out trying to get his temp down. As the afternoon went on his temp kept getting higher. It was 102.6 I did what I could think of plus what my mom told me to do. Rub him down with rubbing alcohol, cold wash cloths. And so on and so on… So finally I called his Dr. and he told me to get an old fashion thermometer and take his temp again cause the digitals he finds even the ones that is used in the office can be off, and for me to tell him to take a tepid bath. So I went and got it, and Hubby got in the bath. When I took the temp next it was 103!! So I called the dr again, and this time he told me that because of the Kidney transplant that he had to take him back to the ER.
So I did and we went through it all again….. and this time the kept of for 4hrs and sent us home saying that it was an UTI and that he would run a fever for a couple of days don’t worry take the meds that we got earlier in the day…. Oh yea when we left again his temp was 101…. So we go home and sleep most of Thursday.. In the afternoon the ER calls and tells me that if he is still running a fever and not feeling good that I was to bring him back up, they did some blood cultures and one of them had started growing bacteria. So here we go again take 3!! Apparently it is not a UTI that he has but they are finding Staph in his Urine.. The dr in the ER goes that is weird…..
So today Friday Hubby is in his private room he was in a really bad mood when I first got to the hospital today but he seems to be improving they are pumping him full of antibiotics and his fever has finally broke…
It really pisses me off that they could have started all of this on Wed when I brought him into the ER.. Either time especially after the 2nd time when his temp was 103.
Well right now that is all I feel like writing .. I will update more later as it goes on. He is going to be in the hospital all weekend… and maybe Monday and Tuesday don’t really know at this point…

Organ Donation....

This is something really close to my heart. When my brother died 15yrs ago my parents decided to donate his organs. I never new what that really meant, until Bobby had to have both of his Kidney's removed in 2000. He was on Dialysis for two years waiting for a transplant. That was the worst time for me. He sat there in a chair while hooked up to a machine that was taking his blood out cleaning it and putting it back in. For 4 hours he had to sit there. Panic attacks and all cause really it is hard knowing that you can't do anything but sit there. All the time waiting for someone to decide to donate their loved one organs and tissue. While waiting we got a phone call saying that they may have a match for him. We sat and waited all day to find out that the person ahead of him was a match so that person was going to get a kidney.. We found out that they call the first few people that may be a match.. Cause if the first person isn't they just go down the list. So he didn't get that one so we continued to wait. I got tested and found out that I was a match. But they wanted me to lose like 30lbs. Because it would make surgery easier on me. Well during that time he had to have a tumor removed from his spinal cord..(along story)...
Then 6 years ago Today (yes April Fools day) He got his Transplant!! He was a lucky one he got his from a living donor. It wasn't from me but from his brother's girlfriend then who became his wife who are now divorced.. (Yea another long story) But Anyways Laura hated to see him going through the whole dialysis thing and got tested without anyone other than his brother knowing. She found out 2 days before Christmas that she was a match.. So for Christmas that year 2001 she gave Bobby a card to tell him that she wanted to be a donor. And that is how we end up at today 6 years ago.. And Bobby getting his new Kidney. I will always be so proud of what she did. I wish that I could have done it for him.. But at least I know that if he ever needs another one I have one for him..
All I have left to say is if you are not an Organ donor please sign up you just don't know who's life you will save.. Well I think I am done rambling for now..LOL
